It is an admireable attempt to rejuvenate the centuries old ignored sikh martial art Gatka to such an extent. It is also good to note that The Punjab Gatka Association has been recognised by Punjab Olympic Association (POA)and Gatka game has been incorporated into the Punjab sports calendar. A Gatka Federation, a National body, have also been constituted in India to promote Gatka at national level. It is also heartning that this Association is craving for according due gradation to Gatka game certificates by the State Government at par with certificates of other games for which a case has been filed before the Punjab sports department. Every body should make selfless efforts to awake the masses about this martial art, otherwise, it might happen that the next generation will be totally unaware of Gatka.
May God Bless All.
