Vintage Sambo clip that shows some really dynamic throws. The beginning is as campy as the BJJ clip before it hits the quick group demos and matches. It continues with some whirling native Russian wrestling style (the throw when it came reminded me of Breton Gouren), and finishes with some great give-and-go using flying techniques, corner drops, and other slick moves.
Early Gracie Jiu-Jitsu clip with Helio, Carlos, Carlson, and George Mehdi. It looks like pre-war Kodokan judo, but includes Helio hitting a flying armbar and some other nice moves. Plus it features a nice Charles Atlas type don’t-let-bullies-kick-sand-in-your-face scene (1950s)
Masahiko Kimura vs Helio Gracie (Brazil 1951)
Helio Gracie vs Kato- judo in the squared circle; poor footage quality (1950s)

Savate Defense- overview of types of techniques
Count Baruzy Savate- a 20th century master showing ring then street techniques (compare the kicks here with the Bruce Lee videos where he closes distance and kicks a bag with a sidekick)
Portuguese Jogo do Pau during World War I
Young mod female practicing la canne who is then set-upon by an Alain Delon gangster wannabe. She makes quick work of him in a handful of scenarios via her cane work (1960s).
Savateurs first fencing, then practicing la canne, baton, and boxe francaise. It looks to me that Lafond himself makes an appearance teaching a boxe francaise class and then a women’s la canne de defense class. Lafond then spars someone in silhouette in the panache style (1960s).
